South down I-25 into Valencia County it is Los Lunas, Bosque Farms and Belen, where irrigated village lots and 2000s subdivisions sit side by side. East on I-40 over Sedillo Hill, Moriarty and the Estancia Valley at 6,200 feet get a different climate entirely — late frosts, hail and snow load on top of the wind. Belen is roughly 34 miles south of Albuquerque and Moriarty roughly 40 east; both are covered, and the drive matters mainly for how quickly we can reach an emergency.
